We replaced the laminate countertops when we moved in and we'll be putting a new backsplash up as well. One of the many projects still on the list. I think we will put in a beaded board backsplash. What do you think? Also, I would like to get some cabinet door knobs put on as well.

Ohhhh! It's gorgeous. I would do a tile back splash though. bead board has too many little groves to get clean. I always think function above form. If it's going to be a nightmare to keep clean, I don't want it. This from many many years of living with white tile counter tops. I'd rather have Formica. Seriously.
I'm with Kristin. Tile with a nice mosaic in the middle going around. It'll finish it off perfectly!!

i love my beadboard back splash (say that 10x fast)... just make sure you put 2-3 coats of polyurathane on it and it wipes up wonderfully!!!! oh- and i love your vintage treasures. DI finds??? i'm ready for some good old garage sale hoppin', you in?
